As our watch of the month in January, another EPOS Masterpiece is in the spotlight – the EPOS 3373 Five Minute Repeater. The timepiece is an exclusive special edition, limited to 200 pieces worldwide. It’s unique, because a skeletonization based on a Swiss Made ETA 2892 automatic movement has never been done like that before. The movements’ motions and its ‘Five Minute Repeater’ function is fully visible through a domed sapphire crystal. All in all, mechanical watchmaking at its best!
The timepiece convinces through its complete transparency and this is exactly what mechanical watch enthusiasts are looking for. It has a luxurious finish with the ‘perlage’ pattern and blued steel screws, also visible through the see-through mineral at the back of the watch. The mechanism is surrounded by a black dial, finding its continuation in the black stripes of the hour and minute hand.
Special Function: Five Minute Repeater
The ‘Five Minute Repeater’ is positioned at 5 o’clock, it chimes the hour and the number of five minute periods since the hour. It works simply by pressing the button at 8 o’clock. It’s a truly historic function, as it goes way back in time. It was first made in 1710, the first watches used a low tone for the hours and a high tone for the minutes – the same tones as the EPOS 3373 today.
