The EPOS 3400 (Limited to 999 Pieces worldwide) is part of the Oeuvre D’Art collection, the home of our Masterpieces. The collection stands for the most sophisticated mechanisms and the most striking designs. Representing Artistry in Watchmaking at its best.
The astonishing design of the dial in combination with the two movements’ complicated mechanisms and the beautiful day and night indication visible at the second time-zone are the main reasons why the timepiece is our pick for the watch of the month in November.
The sophisticated timepiece shows two time-zones simultaneously. On the left is the watch owners’ time-zone, whereas the right shows the time-zone according to one’s own preferences. On both dials is the associated date indication. The second time-zone on the right is executed as a GMT watch, a reverse 24h indication, visualizing day and night. The moon hand stands for night and the sun hand for day.
When taking a closer look at the EPOS 3400, it’s revealing many impressive surprises. The left dial is executed with beautiful mother-of-pearl, surrounded by silvery applied roman numerals. The mother-of-pearl dial is the optical centre of the black sunray pattern, which is engraved on the outer dial. The sunray pattern continues at the inner part of the second time-zone, whereas the outer part is executed with mother-of-pearl as well.
The stainless steel case has an unusual oval shape, measuring 40 to 47 millimeters. Two crowns on the left and right allows the watch owner to idle time and date of the two dials. The whole work of art is visible through a scratch-resistant sapphire crystalglas.
The complicated mechanism is powered by two ETA 2671 automatic movements. The movement of the second time-zone is carefully adapted by EPOS watchmakers to allow its reverse function.
Pursued on the case back is the black sunray pattern, which is optically centered at the right movement.
